Youth Groups
Rachel Smith - Youth Educator
|
| TinyTIFTY
TinyTIFTY is our youth group for children in grades 3-5. As an introduction
to informal education, TinyTIFTY creates opportunities for its members
to learn some of the basic principles of Judaism in a fun and exciting
way. Scavenger hunts teach them the history of our own congregation,
and field trip based activities begin the building of Jewish identity.
For more information on TinyTIFTY, please email Nancy Kahn at yeswekahn@attbi.com |
Temple Teens
Temple Teens is our youth group for grades 6-8. Along with local activities,
Temple Teens is the first chance for regional travel that our children
get. The highlight of the year is the regional junior shul in held
at Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline where our Temple Teens are joined
by nearly 400 of their friends from across New England and Canada.
Along with the development of Jewish identity, Temple Teens are beginning
to take leadership roles within the Congregation as co-coordinators
of the Purim Carnival, and as they plan and execute the own events
throughout the year. For more information about Temple Teens, please
email youth@templetiferethisrael.org |
TIFTY
TIFTY (Tifereth Israel Federation of Temple Youth) is one of the oldest
groups in the NFTY-NE region. Serving grades 9-12, TIFTY has won multiple
awards for their social action (tikkun olam) work, and for their overall
programming excellence, TIFTY showcases the vitality and optimism
of today's Jewish youth. Annually traveling all over New England for
events, and co-sponsoring multiple events here at Temple Tifereth
Israel, TIFTY is forever teaching, learning, and fun. For more information
about TIFTY, please email youth@templetiferethisrael.org |

Youth News
Temple Tifereth Israel proudly
announces its participation in the Myra
and Robert Kraft Passport to Israel Program.
We, as a congregation, feel that a child's Jewish
education can be enhanced by travel to Israel. By becoming a part
of the Passport
to Israel Program, we have provided a way to help families save
money in order for their child(ren) to partake in this incredible
experience.
Our Temple, along with the Kraft Foundation, will also contribute
to each child, each year that they are in our Religious School and
enrolled in the Passport program.
Travel to Israel can be costly and the passport program helps families
save systematically so funds will be available in the teenage years
when most students choose to go. The Passport to Israel program
committee members will be available during Religious School registration,
as well as throughout the school year, to answer any and all questions.
We encourage parents of children in grades 3 and 7 to seriously
consider this wonderful opportunity. For further information, contact
Helen Goldstein, Passport to Israel chairperson at (781) 321-0242
